Privacy Policy
Auralivo is a browser audio enhancement extension. It is designed to process media audio locally in the user's browser and does not operate an analytics, advertising, account, or cloud-processing service.
Data Auralivo handles
Auralivo accesses limited information about the active tab when the user opens or enables the extension. This can include the current page's URL/hostname, page title, favicon, and the page's audio/video media elements. This access is used only to identify the tab the user chose to enhance, display the current site in the popup, process its media audio, and optionally remember audio settings for that hostname.
Auralivo stores the following information locally in Chrome storage:
- Per-site audio preferences, keyed to the site's hostname, including volume, bass, dialogue, Safe Boost, and preset selection.
- A short-lived session record identifying tabs where Auralivo is currently enabled so processing can continue across same-origin refreshes when Chrome still permits access.
- A local flag indicating that the first-run onboarding message has been dismissed.
Audio processing
Audio processing occurs locally on the user's device with browser Web Audio APIs. Auralivo does not record, upload, transmit, sell, share, or remotely analyze the user's audio.
Network transmission and third parties
Auralivo does not send browsing activity, audio, settings, identifiers, or other user data to the developer or to third parties. The extension contains no analytics SDK, advertising SDK, tracking pixel, remote script, or remote executable code.
Data retention and deletion
Per-site preferences remain in Chrome's local extension storage until the user removes them by resetting Chrome extension data or uninstalling Auralivo. Session-only tab state is stored in Chrome session storage and is not intended to persist across browser restarts. Uninstalling the extension causes Chrome to remove its extension storage.
Permissions
- activeTab: temporary access to the tab the user intentionally invokes Auralivo on.
- scripting: injects the packaged local audio-processing engine into that selected page.
- storage: saves user-selected audio preferences and first-run state locally in Chrome.
Auralivo does not request persistent access to all websites and does not use Chrome's tab-capture API.
Limited Use
Auralivo's use of information received from Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Any information Auralivo handles is used only to provide or improve its single user-facing purpose: enhancing and controlling audio on the tab selected by the user. Auralivo does not use or transfer user data for advertising, creditworthiness, unrelated analytics, or other unrelated purposes, and the developer does not permit humans to read user browsing or audio data through Auralivo because that data is not transmitted to the developer.
Changes to this policy
If Auralivo's data practices materially change, this policy and the Chrome Web Store disclosures will be updated before those practices are introduced.
